Researcher biography

Dr. A. Nahuel Pachas has over 15 years’ experience in research of agroforestry and silvopastoral systems. Currently, his has a Postdoctoral position at the School of Agriculture and Food Sciences working with an agroforestry in Laos project funded by ACIAR. Dr. Pachas completed his PhD at the University of Queensland studying the water use of leucaena grass pastures and how the density affects above and below ground interactions between leucaena and grass. Before joining UQ, from 2002 he worked in the National Institute of Agriculture Technology (INTA) as a researcher focusing on silvopastoral systems. He obtained his Agriculture Engineer degree at the Faculty of Agronomy, University of Buenos Aires, Argentina (2001) and subsequently completed his M.Sc in Natural resources from the same university.
