How to apply for Honours
Honours gives you the chance to explore your area of interest and develop specialist knowledge and practice through research. It enables you to advance your research career or move into a diverse range of professions within your chosen field.
Honours is challenging and exciting - in addition to extending your specialisation, you'll also enhance your skills in areas including:
- data analysis
- critical thinking
- report writing
- research methodologies
- research communication
- entrepreneurship.

How to apply for Postgraduate Coursework
If you're a graduate or professional and want to specialise, broaden your expertise in a related field, or upgrade your qualifications, our postgraduate coursework programs will boost your academic or professional career.
Our range of flexible full-time and part-time options all draw on our research expertise and industry connections. They span the disciplines of agricultural science, agribusiness and rural development, food science and technology, and animal science.
Our Masters programs will diversify or deepen your theoretical and practical skills in your field of interest, and they'll also equip you to undertake a higher degree by research. You'll also complete a supervised research project within the Masters program. Please refer to the "Research project - How to apply for a research project" information below.
Our graduate certificates will enable you to upgrade your qualifications or develop skills in addition to those covered by your undergraduate studies. You can also upgrade to a Masters degree program from our certificates.

How to apply for a research project
Contract forms
As part of your application to undertake a research project, you'll need to submit an Application and Learning Contract.

Submit your completed Application and Learning Contract to safs@enquire.uq.edu.au not later than the first Thursday of February for Semester One commencement and first Thursday of July for Semester Two commencement.

Honours award classes and cut-offs
How honours classes are calculated depends on a few factors, including the year in which you started your first course. Please refer to your program rules for the calculation method.
