Several courses within our external programs have compulsory residential school components.

If you’re enrolled in such a course, you’ll need to attend a residential school to fulfil the course requirements.

Practical element

Our residential schools are held on campus, usually at Gatton.

They’re practically oriented and held over a single day, or for up to six days, during semester breaks in March/April, September/October and December or January.

Residential school timetable

Each Semester the residential timetable will be availabe on mySI-net by seaching for each course or you can use the UQ Timetable Planner to see class times and venues for multiple courses. (

When planning your enrolment, always follow the recommended schedules set out in our Science Study Planners to avoid clashes with the residential school timetable.

If you make changes to your enrolment, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that you can attend any compulsory residential schools.

You’ll need to make your own travel and accommodation arrangements.

You'll find information on how to get to UQ on our campuses and inter-campus bus page.

Limited on-campus accommodation is available.

To organise accommodation visit the UQ Halls of Residence residential schools web pages.
