Course structure

Semester 1

You will co-create a research topic with an industry expert in the first three weeks of your program. 

You will then conduct a research program for the remainder of the semester, with emphasis on:

  • defining the research issue
  • establishing methodology
  • undertaking appropriate analysis of data
  • drawing defensible conclusions.

Semester 2

You will undertake a placement of no more than 520 hours with your industry supervisor. You will also work with an academic supervisor.

The placement offers continuous, structured industry experience in a production or service enterprise.

You will complete 14 units and can commence study in Semester 1 or 2. Your placement will form a large part of your thesis.
