The PhD research aims to explore the women's empowerment condition within contract farming in vegetable seed value chains in Bangladesh. This research will help to identify the reasons women involvement in vegetable seed contract farming and their current level of empowerment within vegetable seed contract farming. This study will undertake a case study approach using qualitative and quantitative methods. This study will employ desktop study, in-depth interview, and a survey as data collection techniques. Contract growers, contract agricultural labourers and vegetable seed company personnel are the prospective respondents in this research. The findings of this research are expected to provide a framework for women empowerment within contract farming context in Bangladesh.
