You'll work on molecular approaches to plant genetic improvement, including transgenics and genomics-assisted selection in cereals. This project's primary focus is on genetic manipulation of the grain quality of sorghum.

Location: St Lucia

Expected outcomes: laboratory skills in one or more of PCR, qPCR, starch and protein assays, DNA sequencing, plant tissue culture and genetic engineering; computer-based skills in bioinformatics; experience with growing plant experiments in the glasshouse or field
