Encapsulation of bioactives in alginate microgel particles
This project will investigate the effectiveness of encapsulation of selected bioactives in the alginate microgel matrix. It will use the patented encapsulation technique developed by UQ's Professor Bhesh Bhandari. We'll investigate the physico-chemical interactions of active molecules with the gel matrix molecules. We'll also research the stability, rheological properties and release kinetics of concentrated gel matrix. The depth and total research activities will depend on the total course unit that you're enrolled in.
Location: St Lucia
Expected outcomes: knowledge and skills on evaluating the encapsulation process and performance of the product
Supervisors: Professor Bhesh Bhandari
