There's limited information on the impact of noxious plants on soil microbial communities. Results from our recent study in agricultural lands suggest possible effect on soil microbial properties. Further research is needed to characterise the dynamics of the effect of a noxious weed on soil microbial composition and diversity.

Location: St Lucia and Gatton

Expected outcomes: you'll use biochemical and molecular tools including next-generation sequencing approach to characterise the possible impacts of the noxious weed on soil microbial communities
