Soil and crop health are a big topic because degraded soils often have high amounts of pathogens that reduce crop vigour and yield. This project is a collaboration between Australia’s leading compost manufacturer, crop and plant pathology experts and the ‘Fight Food Waste CRC’ ( The student will have opportunity to analyse the effects of compost addition to soils which a high pathogen load. Can compost reduce the impact of pathogens on crop? If yes, can this effect be generated with precision and for different crops? High achieving students can apply for support from the CRC.
