The UQ Agri-Food Innovation Alliance connects science, education and entrepreneurship within Queensland agribusiness.

As globalisation, technology and climate change transform agriculture worldwide, were partnering with agribusiness to upskill and maximise opportunities to expand in premium food and beverages, develop clean energy and recycling, and advance agricultural manufacturing.

The alliance, a $2.5 million government-funded pilot program, supports:

  • project teams of UQ researchers and agri-food business owners to conduct and translate research into commercially viable products
  • training job-ready graduates and highly skilled employees through internships, short-form and micro-credentials, and vocational training
  • facilities where UQ researchers and students can work with industry-based infrastructure to translate research.
